SUPERIOR STUCCO FOAM-TITE
Manufactured from the highest grade materials, SUPERIOR STUCCO FOAM-TITE provides the dependability and flexibility in design; that is demanded from an adhesive and coating in today’s construction projects. SUPERIOR STUCCO FOAM-TITE is a Polymer-modified Portland Cement product that is specifically designed for use as an EPS Foam shape adhesive and coating.
SUPERIOR STUCCO FOAM-TITE is primarily used as an adhesive and coating for EPS Foam Shapes. It is also used for patching small areas and as a base coat over most cement based substrates.
As an Adhesive: SUPERIOR STUCCO FOAM-TITE will stick approximately 60-90 linear feet per 90lb. sack (at 3/16”-1/4” thickness).
As a Coating: SUPERIOR STUCCO FOAM-TITE will cover approximately 1 sq foot/per dry pound at 1/8” thickness. Your coverage will vary depending on application and procedures.
Use clean potable water and mix with a drill or a paddle type mixer. Add ½ the amount of water to a 5 gallon pail, slowly add the SUPERIOR STUCCO FOAM-TITE into the water, add remaining water and mix to the consistency of a milk shake (3-5 minutes). Let this mixture stand for about 8-10 minutes (the mixture will stiffen up), add a little bit more water and break the set. Re-temper by drilling mixture for approximately 1 minute (try not to add water if not necessary)
Approximate water needed for 50 lb sack: 1-1/4 gallons, for 90 lb sack: 2-1/2 gallons
To ensure that SUPERIOR STUCCO FOAM-TITE bonds correctly, make sure the receiving surface is free of any contaminates, dust, debris, curing or cleaning agents, efflorescence, oils, etc.
As an ADHESIVE: Trowel SUPERIOR STUCCO FOAM-TITE onto back side of the EPS foam shape using a margin or notched trowel (3/16” -1/4”). Apply foam shape with pressure on the wall and move into desired position. Trowel excess material back into the gap between the shape and substrate/wall and sponge float to feather immediately. DO NOT move shape once applied; this will break the set and cause failure.
As an EPS BASE COAT: Machine or hand apply SUPERIOR STUCCO FOAM-TITE onto the front side of the meshed foam shape, completely covering all mesh (approx. 1/8” thick). Trowel or sponge float to desired finish. Let the coated foam shape cure for a minimum of 24 hours before additional work is performed over it.
As a WALL BASE COAT: Trowel SUPERIOR STUCCO FOAM-TITE onto wall. Trowel or sponge float to desired finish. When using mesh in conjunction with SUPERIOR STUCCO FOAM-TITE, start in the middle of the mesh and work your way to the edges of the netting, avoiding wrinkles. Let this Base Coat set for a minimum of 24 hours, apply a second coat and trowel smooth.
Lightly mist all walls with water within 24 hours after the application is complete.
Do not apply SUPERIOR STUCCO FOAM-TITE when ambient temperature is below 40 degrees F or above 100 degrees F. The temperature must stay consistent within this range for a minimum of 48 hours after application for material to cure properly. Do not add more water than what is prescribed when mixing, floating or troweling this product. Excessive or insufficient amounts of water can cause product failure. There is no need to saturate the walls prior to installation except in extreme dry conditions. Do not deviate from mixing procedures or overmix, as this may cause product failure. SUPERIOR STUCCO FOAM-TITE is not intended to be left unfinished. Apply one of Stucco Supply’s SUPERIOR STUCCO FINISH products over the base coat or prime and paint.
Clean tools and surfaces immediately with water.
